Senior/Managing QS – Civils/Highway/Infrastructure

Salary: £60000-£75000
Location: South East/Beds/Bucks/Berks/M25
Regions: Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, South East

We are looking for a Senior/Managing QS to work for a leading engineering and construction company working across the UK providing services to the building, civil engineering, highway & rail markets.

You will be working on multiple projects across the South East, valued between £700k - £10m. You will be managing various subcontractors covering Earthworks, concrete, bridges, structures, and drainage.

The role is to work within their growing commercial and operational team to develop their presence in the region while maintaining performance on their live projects.

All projects will be delivered under an NEC3 contract – it is essential that you have a good understanding of the contract and experience delivering projects from award to project handover, raising early warnings, compensation events, and managing commercial disputes.

Projects typically include pinch point/junction upgrades, drainage upgrades, section 278 works, bridge repair and replacement schemes, embankment repairs, and one-off highway improvement schemes.

Duties will include:

  • Review tender documentation to ensure terms agreed are suitable, risks identified, and mitigation’s implemented
  • Producing accurate and timely commercial project reports
  • Procurement of subcontractors, negotiation, and financial accounting
  • Ensure the commercial risks identified at tender stage are carried through post-contract and delivery
  • Supervising the performance of the commercial aspects of projects
  • Prepare interim valuations and agree final accounts
  • Lead negotiation with settlement of disputes in relation to customer and supplier accounts
