We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Manager Wholesale Impairment IFRS9 on a 9 Month Secondment.

The Group Wholesale Impairment & Stress Testing team, part of Wholesale Credit Risk Management function, is responsible for the measurement, management, calculation, controls and governance of IFRS9 Expected Credit Loss (ECL) reserves for the group-wide Wholesale portfolio (EAD >$1.6tn). We collaborate with Risk and Finance functions across all regions (80+ sites) and lead the review and challenge of Wholesale ECL impairments. The team has oversight of the 400+ Sox controls that are operated in the end-to-end IFRS9 process, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to continuously monitor, challenge and improve the control environment.

Responsibilities
  • Review, analyse and report the Group-level ECL results, by supporting to provide insightful trends, analytics and forecast for future periods.
  • Define and design portfolio analytics solutions in python/SAS or other similar platforms to support management judgements.
  • Responsible for the delivery of prototypes to enhance the current simulation capabilities to support macro risk related variables in ECL forecasting.
  • Provide and support analysis of new and emerging trends in credit risk space like but not limited to Climate Risk impact, Geo-political risk and other broader macro events.
  • Articulate trends in PDs, LGDs, EADs and ECLs in terms of modelling and non-modelling drivers of the Wholesale portfolio, and relate to macroeconomics, methodology, credit policy.
  • Oversee and manage the IFRS9 control environment.
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of credit risk models (PD, LGD, EAD, Staging and ECL)– both in terms of development/validation/monitoring practices and downstream usage of modelled outputs by business/finance/risk.
  • Strong expertise in model development tools like SAS, python or similar capabilities.
  • Strong problem-solving/analytical abilities, needs to be able to distil complex problems into manageable parts and plan work accordingly.
  • Previous experience of Stakeholder engagement/management at a Senior level.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability and confidence to present complex information to various Stakeholder’s.
