Description
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of accounting professionals across the UK and Germany
- Provide expert advice on complex IFRS and technical accounting matters (e.g. IFRS 9, 10, 15, 16, IAS 37, IAS 2)
- Assess and support accounting treatments for new trading products, acquisitions, and investment projects
- Develop, refine, and implement accounting policies and principles to support business innovation
- Partner with senior finance leadership to influence strategic and operational decisions
- Coordinate group-level IAS/IFRS topics to ensure consistency across the organisation
- Support quarterly financial statement preparation under IFRS and HGB, including evaluation of commodity contracts and provisions
- Act as the main contact for auditors, ensuring clear communication and accurate responses to technical queries
- Lead and deliver internal accounting projects to enhance processes, controls, and reporting quality
- Provide accounting assessments and solutions for new business approvals and complex transactions
Profile
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS (HGB exposure advantageous)
- Experience in derivatives, financial instruments, or complex transaction accounting
- Proven ability to interpret and apply accounting standards to new products and business models
- Demonstrated leadership experience, managing and developing a small team
- Skilled in project management, with the ability to balance priorities and deliver results
- Analytical and solution-oriented mindset, with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across all levels
- Advanced proficiency in English (German is an advantage)
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to take on new technical challenges
- Experience in the energy, trading, or financial services sectors is desirable
