Senior Manager – Structured Reinsurance Pricing

A prestigious global life reinsurer is seeking a Senior Manager to take a leadership position within their rapidly expanding Structured Reinsurance / Capital Solutions business. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced actuary to shape pricing strategy, lead a high‑performing team, and work on complex, bespoke transactions across international markets.

The Structured Reinsurance division supports clients by delivering financial reinsurance solutions designed to optimise balance sheets, release trapped capital, stabilise earnings and monetise off‑balance‑sheet value. Operating globally, the Pricing function plays a critical role in risk assessment, deal structuring support and setting commercial pricing levels across a wide variety of product types.

This position offers significant visibility across the organisation, frequent client interaction and the chance to influence strategy for one of the most dynamic areas of the reinsurance market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership & Strategy
    • Lead, mentor and develop a growing Pricing team.
    • Oversee pricing output, ensuring consistency, accuracy and technical strength.
    • Set and execute the pricing strategy in alignment with wider business objectives.
  • Risk Assessment & Deal Support
    • Review and challenge detailed risk assessments covering deal attractiveness, counterparty creditworthiness, regulatory context and market conditions.
    • Collaborate with structuring, commercial and legal teams to ensure transactions align with risk appetite and progress smoothly through to execution.
    • Provide commercial insight and support on treaty wording and transaction terms.
  • Market Engagement & Business Analysis
    • Attend client meetings with the commercial team, gather market intelligence and identify new opportunities.
    • Track competitive activity, regulatory developments and industry trends.
    • Contribute to the ongoing refinement of business line strategy.
  • Process, Assumptions & Model Development
    • Develop pricing guidelines, governance frameworks and best‑practice methodologies.
    • Support development and maintenance of pricing tools and models.
    • Contribute to setting capital assumptions across product types, territories and transaction structures.
About You
  • Qualified actuary with at least 5 years’ post experience.
  • Experience within financial reinsurance, capital solutions or structured reinsurance.
  • Proven leadership, including coaching, developing team culture and recruiting.
  • Strong technical, analytical and problem‑solving ability.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to simplify complex topics for diverse stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working independently in a dynamic environment with periodic high‑pressure deadlines.
  • Pricing experience across European and/or Asian markets is beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of capital, balance sheets and regulatory frameworks is desirable.
Why This Role Stands Out
  • Lead and influence a strategically important, rapidly growing business area.
  • Work on highly bespoke transactions spanning multiple regions.
  • Excellent visibility across senior leadership and global teams.
  • Supportive culture focused on development, wellbeing and work–life balance.
  • Competitive and comprehensive benefits offering.
