Job description

We’re DF Capital – a specialist bank providing award-winning commercial finance, retail finance, and savings products to consumers and small businesses.

Based in Manchester, we serve thousands of customers across the UK and into Europe, supporting their ambitions with tailored financial solutions.

We help our customers realise their ambitions by doing things differently – combining the agility and innovation of a specialist lender with the security and service standards of a regulated bank. Whether it’s flexible lending structures or straightforward savings options, we focus on what matters most to our customers.

In 2025, we launched DF Capital Retail Finance – a subsidiary of DF Capital Bank Limited – to offer specialist hire purchase solutions to retail customers.

Our goal is simple: to do the absolute best for our customers, our communities, and each other.
Your new role:

The Prudential Risk Senior Manager will be responsible for assisting the CRO in overseeing the bank’s prudential risks, which include capital, liquidity and funding, and partnering Finance and Treasury to ensure that effective controls are in place to identify, manage, and monitor those risks.

This is a second-line role reporting to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO), partnering the CFO area and identifying and managing risks associated with DF Capital’s strategy and business plans.

Responsibilities:

DF Capital is passionate about providing employees with the right training and support to help them excel in their roles and future careers. We are confident that an applicant with the right attitude and drive will succeed in this role.

The ideal candidate will have had exposure to both capital and liquidity, but someone with strong, practical experience of only one of these should not be but off, as our CRO has strong technical experience and is willing to coach the candidate if they possess independent thinking, a can do attitude, and want to positively contribute to the business.

The role offers broad exposure to entities, issues and both working capital and consumer finance.

Duties include:
  • 2LOD oversight of capital, liquidity and funding risk;
  • Supporting the implementation, embedding, and continuous development of DF Capital’s Risk Management Framework;
  • Contributing to the definition and ongoing calibration of capital, liquidity and IRRBB risk appetites;
  • Second line review and challenge of the firm’s ICAAP, ILAAP, Recovery Plan, Resolution Pack, and the bank and retail entities’ Solvent Wind-down Plans;
  • Supporting horizon scanning of emerging risks;
  • Leading the second line review and challenge of regulatory reporting;
  • Monitoring new developments in prudential regulation;
  • Assisting with the design, documentation, and operation of second line oversight processes that support the Risk Management Framework;
  • Supporting the preparation of reports detailing key findings from second line reviews, any systemic risk issues and common themes, and prescribing appropriate, relevant and pragmatic corrective actions; and
  • Preparing and developing second line risk and compliance Management Information (MI) including regular reporting to senior management and committees, such as on risk appetite monitoring.
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of prudential risk management and prudential regulation (PRA);
  • Experience of drafting or reviewing an ICAAP or ILAAP;
  • Experience working in a risk function at a bank or relevant consultancy experience or experience working at the regulator;
  • Highly numerate, with strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills, including strong Excel skills;
  • Ability to think creatively, problem solver;
  • Strong planning and organisational skills;
  • Ability to communicate your ideas clearly through presentations and risk reports.
  • Private medical insurance for you and your Family
  • 10% Employer pension contribution
  • 30-day annual leave entitlement plus Bank/Public Holidays
  • Free Gym Membership
  • Discretionary annual bonus
  • Discretionary share awards
  • Life Assurance
  • Income Protection
  • Save As You Earn company share acquisition scheme
