Job summary

A financial services consultancy is seeking a Senior Manager in Model Validation to lead high-quality analysis and independent reviews of mathematical models. The role involves engaging with model developers and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Candidates must possess a strong background in statistical modelling, analytical skills, and be capable of working independently. This hybrid position is based in Birmingham, offering a competitive salary range of £65K-£80K.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in statistical modelling and analytics across the account life cycle.
  • Good knowledge of IRB, IFRS 9, and Model Risk Management (MRM) regulation.
  • Proven experience in coding for model development and implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Leading independent reviews of models for compliance and performance.
  • Engaging with model developers and owners regarding model changes.
  • Preparing accurate reports for internal governance bodies.

Senior Manager- Model Validation

Hybrid (Birmingham)

Key Responsibilities :
  • Leading and delivering high-quality analysis, independent reviews & challenge of the mathematical and theoretical soundness of models; model compliance with relevant regulation; data quality, model monitoring and performance; model documentation; model implementation; and model use
  • Leading and developing the IMV Infrastructure and framework, and supporting the review, maintenance and management of all model governance policies and standards relating to IMV
  • Engaging with model developers, owners and implementers on specific areas of model development, model changes, performance and implementation,
  • Preparing clear, accurate and timely reports and communicating to and representation at appropriate internal governance bodies
  • Support the development of team members to reach their full potential.
Key Requirements :
  • Highly numerate, excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills,
  • Proven experience of applying statistical modelling and analytics across the account life cycle,
  • Good knowledge of IRB, IFRS 9, Model Risk Management (MRM) regulation and AI techniques,
  • Proven experience of coding (model development and implementation),
  • Proven ability to work independently and support / manage the wider team
