We\'re looking for a highly motivated, technically skilled, and ambitious Senior Manager to lead a team in our dynamic Group Reporting function. This high-impact, fixed-term contract role, based in our London headquarters, offers significant growth potential and the opportunity to directly influence the financial narrative of a world-leading creative transformation company.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Manager, you\'ll be a key player in WPP\'s group reporting function, leading a team of talented professionals and driving critical processes. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Master complex accounting challenges: Own the processes and lead on technical areas such as goodwill impairment testing, M&A accounting, hedging, leasing, share-based payments and other ad hoc complex projects. Your expertise will ensure WPP\'s financial reporting is best-in-class.
  • Lead the charge on consolidated reporting: Our team oversees the entire Group consolidation process, navigating the complexities of multiple currencies, jurisdictions, and accounting standards (IFRS) to deliver accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance our reporting processes, leveraging technology and automation, and best practices to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Mentor and develop your team: Guide and inspire a team of Managers and Senior Associates, fostering their growth and development while creating a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Build strong relationships: Collaborate closely with external auditors, senior management, and operating companies across the WPP network, ensuring seamless communication and a "no surprises" environment.
  • Be a compliance champion: Ensure adherence to WPP\'s accounting policies, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and other relevant regulations.
What you\'ll need
  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CA).
  • Big 4 public accounting experience
  • Extensive experience with complex, multi-currency group consolidations and financial reporting for listed companies (UK premium and/or US listed preferred).
  • Deep understanding of IFRS and Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • Strong technical accounting skills, particularly in complex areas.
  • Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
