Job description

Our client supervises the island's financial services businesses, including financial institutions, designated non‑financial businesses and professions, and virtual asset service providers for anti‑money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism purposes. They regulate financial services for conduct and prudential purposes and are one of the few regulators globally to operate under a single financial services. The Engagement function is responsible for developing and implementing Jersey's local and international engagement strategy, ensuring strong relationships with key stakeholders across government, industry, peer regulators, and international standard‑setting bodies. This is a permanent, full‑time leadership role reporting to the Executive Director of Policy, Marketing and Communications and Innovation Hub. The successful candidate will be instrumental in promoting Jersey's interests and enhancing its reputation as a competitive International Financial Centre. The role requires a flexible and proactive approach, focusing on delivering a comprehensive engagement strategy that aligns with organisational objectives.

Job Duties
  • Develop and implement an engagement strategy that enhances Jersey's position in the global financial landscape.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including government bodies, industry representatives, and peer regulators.
  • Represent the organisation in relevant local and international forums to promote and protect Jersey's interests.
  • Provide expert advice and support on engagement matters, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement sound policy positions.
  • Lead initiatives to maintain Jersey's compliance with international standards, fostering stakeholder competence.
Job Requirements
  • Strong knowledge and experience in stakeholder engagement within the financial services industry or regulatory environment.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing engagement or communication strategies at a senior level.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement in complex situations and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated capacity to inspire and lead teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of communicating persuasively and credibly with senior representatives.
  • Robust experience in stakeholder management and strong presentation skills to convey complex topics effectively.
  • Resilience in responding positively to change and unpredictability in the regulatory landscape.
