About the Role

As a Senior Manager in our Product team, you will lead the strategic vision, discovery, and execution of innovative digital products that drive core business growth and deliver distinct market positioning. Operating within a highly regulated consumer credit environment, you will bridge high-level commercial orientation with technical depth to navigate complex trade-offs, optimise resource allocation, and foster platform capabilities. You will inspire cross-functional teams, partner closely with engineering, and foster junior talent across our product organisation.

What You'll Do

Strategic Vision & Execution

• Autonomously lead the discovery, definition, and route to market of innovative digital products and feature sets that drive key business outcomes.
• Develop 18 month + product visions to senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary delivery teams.
• Drive market positioning to maintain product relevance and a distinct advantage.
• Navigate trade-offs across the product portfolio to optimise resource allocation and market impact.
• Move seamlessly between high-level strategic orientation and technical details to make sound trade-off decisions in delivery and resourcing.

Capability Building & Tech Pioneer

• Champion resilient, extensible, and reusable platform capabilities (APIs, Cloud infrastructure, and modern data architectures) that ensure scalability and a competitive advantage.
• Partner closely with engineering teams to challenge and inform technological choices that enable both near-term value delivery and long-term modernization.
• Unblock engineering momentum by bringing clarity to ambiguous problem spaces and refining delivery pipelines.

Human-Centered Product Discovery

• Embed and reinforce a human-centered approach, obsessing over consumer needs to reimagine digital interactions.
• Translate deep customer research, analytics, and user testing into actionable product backlogs and design solutions.
• Define robust success metrics and customer-driven acceptance criteria to measure product impact and performance post-launch.

Commercial & Business Focus

• Leverage data, business analytics, and operational rigor to ensure high-quality product performance and well-managed execution within a highly regulated consumer credit landscape.
• Partner with teams across the business to track performance, manage pace, balance product trade-offs and maximise investment

Collaborative Leadership

• Influence and inspire senior stakeholders and delivery partners through articulate, authentic, and data-backed communication.
• Actively engage with our product organisation by contributing to the broader community at Capital One, fostering and evolving our junior talent.

What You'll Bring

• Product Expertise: Proven track record in digital product management delivering scalable consumer-facing products or platform capabilities in tech, FinTech, or regulated industries.
• Strategic Orientation: Ability to conceptualise complex problems, identify levers for growth, and align long-term product strategy with iterative execution.
• Technical Acumen: Strong comfort with technology concepts (cloud, microservices, APIs, data pipelines) and an ability to collaborate effectively with software engineers to unleash delivery.
• Data-Driven & Commercial Mindset: Demonstrated success using quantitative metrics, customer insights, and commercial thinking to guide roadmap prioritisation.
• Influential Communication: Exceptional communication and partnership skills, with the ability to build trust, challenge status quo thinking, and align cross-functional teams around a shared vision.

Where and how you'll work

This is a permanent position based in our Nottingham or London office.

We embrace a hybrid approach to work. You'll spend three days a week in the office (Tuesday-Thursday), with Monday and Friday being dedicated work-from-home days.
