London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) is seeking a Portal DevOps Lead to drive reliability, delivery readiness, and operational excellence for portal services. You will meld hands-on engineering across AWS, CI/CD, Linux, and networking with leadership in backlog refinement, user story creation, and release planning.
You will collaborate with product owners, architects, and security teams to prioritise work and coordinate deployments, while ensuring smooth BAU handovers and ongoing production
The Portal DevOps Lead is a hands-on technical leadership role responsible for supporting the delivery, reliability, and operational readiness of portal services. The role combines practical engineering across cloud platforms, identity and authentication services, CI/CD tooling, Linux, and networking with leadership responsibilities including backlog refinement, user story creation, work prioritisation, delivery management, release management, and production support handover to BAU teams.
Act as the technical delivery lead for portal DevOps workstreams, balancing hands-on contribution with coordination and leadership. Drive clarity across scope, dependencies, acceptance criteria, sequencing, and release readiness. Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing clear updates on progress, risks, issues, and decisions required. Support team planning ceremonies and ensure work is broken down into achievable, well-understood deliverables. Champion production readiness, secure delivery practices, documentation quality, and effective transition into BAU support. Lead by example through practical engineering contribution, pragmatic decision-making, and a focus on reliable service outcomes.
The successful candidate will typically have significant experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, platform engineering, or site reliability engineering, with demonstrable experience delivering and supporting production-grade services. They should be comfortable working across engineering, product, security, infrastructure, and BAU operational teams, and should be able to move confidently between strategic planning, delivery coordination, and hands-on technical problem solving.
Backlog items are clear, prioritised, and ready for delivery. User stories and technical tasks are well-defined with appropriate acceptance criteria. Releases are planned, communicated, delivered, and supported effectively. Production support handovers are complete, practical, and accepted by BAU teams. Portal platform changes are delivered securely, reliably, and with appropriate operational documentation. Technical risks, dependencies, and blockers are identified early and managed proactively.
