Job description

As Ofgem transforms the way it uses data, we're looking for a Senior Manager Data Governance to lead the development of the governance, standards and frameworks needed to support smarter regulation and better decision-making.

Ofgem is Great Britain's independent energy regulator. We're at the forefront of change across the sector, driving toward Net Zero whilst protecting consumers, especially vulnerable people.

This is a permanent opportunity to join a new team that's playing a crucial role in our data transformation programme. You'll have the chance to build and embed a practical approach to data governance from the ground up, helping ensure data is trusted, well managed and used effectively across the organisation.

Working alongside colleagues from across the organisation, you'll be able to influence how data is managed, and create the standards that will support how data is used now and into the future.

What’s more, you’ll be enabled to drive cultural change by coaching others and promoting high-quality data and continuous improvement initiatives. Through this, you'll help create a progressive working environment where we can make better regulatory decisions and, ultimately, deliver better outcomes for the energy sector.

We're looking for someone with a strong background in developing data governance policies, controls, processes and standards, alongside experience of improving the quality, consistency and usability of complex operational or regulatory datasets. You'll also have a track record of translating business, policy or regulatory needs into practical governance solutions and the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.

In return, you'll discover the opportunity to make a genuine, lasting impact and follow the fruits of your labour down a clear, rewarding career path. You’ll find an amazing benefits package, plenty of flexible working opportunities and the chance to develop professionally. You'll have your ideas heard, be given support and freedom, and will be enabled to grow in a superb role, for now and the future.

We have a critical purpose to ensure the energy industry is supported by trusted, high-quality data. Join us and help build the governance that will enable better decisions for consumers, industry and the future of Great Britain's energy system.
