Job summary

Alpha Financial Markets Consulting PLC is expanding its UK practice in the asset and wealth management space, seeking a senior leader to own major client reporting programmes. You will run large workstreams, align governance, and deliver high-impact outcomes for top clients, while mentoring junior colleagues.

You will operate with credibility with senior client sponsors, shape the proposition and drive delivery through cross-functional teams, including technology partners and client staff.

Qualifications

• Strong consulting experience is essential; consultancy or closely related advisory work.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of large programmes or workstreams, owning the plan, governance, risks and outcomes.
• Design the target state client reporting offering and the operating models to deliver it efficiently.
• Act as senior business-side lead on client reporting technology implementations (e.g., Kurtosys, SimCorp, Vermillion).
• Lead mixed teams of company staff and client personnel, set quality standards and develop people.
• Manage day-to-day relationships with client sponsors and senior stakeholders, including difficult conversations.
• Act as sparring partner to leadership, proposing and building landable ideas.
• Coach and mentor consultants, shaping hiring and talent development.
• Rethink how the practice operates to improve effectiveness and remove non-value activities.

The opportunity

We work with asset & wealth managers on how they most effectively sell to and service their clients. In practice that means the end-to-end client lifecycle, the processes sitting behind it, the operating model that supports it and the technology it all runs on. The work is strategic, large, and of high impact to our clients.

This is one of the fastest growing parts of our UK business, and we are hiring someone to help us build it further, specifically in the area of Client Reporting where we are seeing significant demand. That covers the proposition set, the team, and delivering the largest and most complex work we take on. You would be the senior person on the ground for a programme or a major workstream, with a team under you and a client sponsor to answer to - and someone working with practice leadership discussing where we should be heading.

What you’ll do

• Leading delivery of our large programmes or workstreams, and owning the plan, the governance, the risks and the outcome
• Designing the target state client reporting offering for our clients, and the processes and target operating models which can deliver it efficiently
• Acting as the senior business-side lead on client reporting technology platform implementations such as Kurtosys, SimCorp, Vermillion, working closely with technology on design and sequencing
• Running mixed teams of our people and client staff, which includes setting the quality standard, delegating properly, and developing the people below you
• Handling the day-to-day relationship with client sponsors and senior stakeholders, including the difficult conversations
• Acting as a sparring partner to the practice leadership on where our proposition should go, bringing your own ideas, arguing for them, and then building the ones that land
• Coaching and mentoring the consultants around you, and taking a hand in how we hire and who we hire
• Being restless about how the practice itself works, so what we should stop doing, what we should be better at and what we are missing

What you bring

• Strong consulting experience is essential. We will also consider candidates whose experience has been genuinely consultative within industry, but the shape of that experience needs to be recognisable.
• Experience in asset management, wealth management, or a closely related area of financial services.
• A strong track record of leading large-scale change as a programme manager, lead project manager, or design lead, with clear ownership of delivery, governance, and outcomes.
• Experience of large technology-enabled transformation programmes, including design and strategic work at the front end, not only the execution.
• Strong people leadership experience, including managing teams and being accountable for the quality of their output.
• The confidence and credibility to operate independently with senior client stakeholders and lead discussions in senior forums.

• Experience developing or refining propositions, segment strategies, or service models.
• Experience supporting pitch processes, including defining team shapes, workplans and delivery approaches.
