Are you a financial wizard with a knack for strategic insights? Our client is a progressive, innovative and seriously entrepreneurial business in the packaging industry looking to GROW! Their MD needs a business‑savvy Senior Management Accountant / Finance Manager to join their dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be the backbone of the financial operations, making sure the finances are running smoothly and providing valuable insights to the MD.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial reporting: Prepare and present accurate monthly financial statements within five days of the end of the month, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Budgeting and forecasting: Develop and manage the annual budget while conducting forecasts to project financial performance.
  • Internal controls and compliance: Establish and maintain robust internal controls and manage audits to validate financial processes.
  • Cash management: Oversee cash flow and accounts payable/receivable to ensure operational liquidity.
  • Financial analysis and strategy: Analyze key metrics and trends to drive informed business decisions.
  • Team leadership and development: Lead and develop the accounting team, promoting best practices and continuous learning.
  • Tax planning and compliance: Collaborate with external accountants to implement tax‑saving initiatives and ensure accurate tax filings.
  • Cost control and expense management: Monitor and optimize company expenses to maximize profitability.
  • Risk management: Identify financial risks and implement measures to mitigate them.
  • Financial systems and process improvement: Oversee the maintenance of financial software and continuously enhance accounting processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field or equivalent.
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA or CIMA) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a B2B products‑based business is highly advantageous.
  • Proven experience in management accounting, financial planning, or business finance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems (e.g., Sage, SAP, or similar).
  • An analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
