Role: Senior Management Accountant

Location: Blackburn, BB1 2FA - Office Based (location subject to change due to planned office relocation)

Contract: Full-Time Hours / Permanent

Salary: £47,025 - £57,475 Dependent on experience & Discretionary Bonus Scheme

About the Role:

Our Finance Department has a new opportunity available for a knowledgeable and experienced Senior Management Accountant to join us. In this role, you will be part of our diverse Country Finance Team and you will provide dedicated accounting support by producing monthly management accounts and accomplishing key financial close & day-to-day activities efficiently.

You will be an essential asset in supporting the Financial Controller & Finance Manager in driving forward projects, achieving business objectives and leading the team to success. The role involves cross-department collaboration, interacting with senior stakeholders, financial reporting and implementing process improvements.

We are looking for a qualified accountant with strong business acumen who can hit the ground running. This is the perfect opportunity for a finance professional with ambitions to excel their career within a corporate organisation.

What you'll be doing:
  • Cross-department collaboration inclusive of attending and speaking in business meetings, presenting in front of colleagues and knowledge sharing
  • Monthly / Quarterly / Annual reporting preparation & consolidation
  • Project work involving creating, leading or supporting projects
  • Performing management accounting duties with accuracy and attention to detail
    • Monthly management accounts including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
    • Posting key journals entries
    • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Identify areas of improvement and implement robust processes
  • Support with financial internal & external auditors
  • Assist with year-end statutory accounts
  • Develop and maintain robust processes and controls in line with Group requirements
  • Ensure consistent documentation of tasks and activities according to internal policies

  • Qualified Accountant - ACCA / ACA / CIMA or equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical and technical skills
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build rapport and work with senior stakeholders
  • Pro-active work ethic with high productivity
  • Proficient in accounting software & creating reports
  • Adaptable and open to changing priorities
