Job summary

Lineage Logistics is seeking a Lead Maintenance Engineer in Heywood to provide technical leadership for the maintenance team. The role focuses on reliable operation of site equipment, safety, and continuous improvement across the facility.

You will lead by example, develop standards, and coordinate activities with the Maintenance Manager and Operations. The position is hands-on, requires working in a temperature-controlled environment, and involves mentoring engineers and apprentices while

Qualifications

• Recognised electrical qualification (NVQ3/City & Guilds or equivalent).
• Experience in warehousing/logistics, FMCG or similar environment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills in electrical systems.
• Experience with preventative and reactive maintenance programs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily maintenance activities across the site.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers and apprentices.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance to maximise reliability.
• Respond to breakdowns and lead fault-finding to resolve issues safely.
• Support conveyors, refrigeration, cranes, racking and utilities maintenance.
• Capture root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a hands-on engineering position combined with leadership responsibilities and wants to make a meaningful impact within a global organisation.Shift Available: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pmSalary: CompetitiveAbout the RoleAs a Lead Maintenance Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of our site equipment and infrastructure.You'll work closely with the Maintenance Manager and engineering team, providing technical guidance, coordinating engineering activities, and supporting both reactive and preventative maintenance programmes.
