Job summary

Rivian seeks a Senior ML, AI Infra Engineer to build state-of-the-art AI infrastructure for training very large foundation models and accelerating training and inference for autonomous driving applications.

You will join a team of software engineers, ML engineers and researchers to push the boundaries of transformer-based models, enabling next-generation end-to-end autonomous driving solutions.

Qualifications

• PhD in CS/CE/EE or equivalent industry experience.
• Deep knowledge of PyTorch.
• Experience with CUDA or Triton for custom ops.
• Knowledge of model training frameworks.
• In-depth knowledge of transformer architecture and acceleration.
• Experience with large-scale distributed training of models.
• Track record of profiling and improving training and inference speed.

Responsibilities

• Improve ecosystem for training infrastructure and deployment pipeline to accelerate model iteration and improve performance.
• Provide thorough, constructive code reviews that enforce ML engineering standards, security practices, and performance optimization

Qualifications

• PhD in CS/CE/EE, or equivalent, in industry experience
• Deep knowledge of PyTorch
• Experience with CUDA or Triton language for writing custom ops
• Knowledge of model training framework
• In-depth knowledge of transformer architecture and ways to accelerate the training and inference of transformer models
• Experience of performing large scale distributed training of models
• A track record of profiling model and doing detective work to improve model training and inference spee
