Job summary

Archway Learning Trust in Nottingham invites an enthusiastic Lunch Supervisor to join our school community. You will supervise students across dining areas, playgrounds and premises during lunch, ensuring safety, welfare and orderly conduct.

You will monitor behaviour, report incidents to the Office Manager, assist with meals, provide basic first aid when needed and support pupils with social skills and table manners. This role is based on-site in Nottingham.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during lunch periods in dining areas, playgrounds and school premises, ensuring safety, welfare and good order.
• Monitor the behaviour of students, encouraging positive behaviour and reporting incidents to the Office Manager as appropriate.
• Provide safety and well-being support to children, signposting concerns to colleagues when necessary.
• Arrange and supervise appropriate play and physical activities under the direction of the Office Manager.
• Encourage pupils to eat, assist children with cutting up food, opening tubs and pouring water where appropriate.
• Encourage social skills and good table manners, ensuring safety with knives and forks.
• Clean up spillages and organise clearing cutlery and crockery off tables.
• Collect students from classroom and ensure they are adequately dressed for weather conditions.
• Supervise entry and exit by students during lunch and maintain calm, orderly conduct.
• Liaise with Catering Services over meal collection and return/cleaning of catering resources.
• Provide first aid assistance to staff, students and visitors as necessary.
• Ensure any injured or ill students are dealt with according to school procedures.

• To ensure the safety and well-beingof children, providing support where necessary or signposting concerns tocolleagues.
• To arrange and supervise appropriateplay and physical activities under the direction of the Office Manager.
• To encourage all pupils to eat butespecially those with special needs or disabilities, and to assist childrenwith cutting up food, opening tubs, pouring water etc. where appropriate toe.g. age of child, needs of child, as necessary.
• To encourage social skills and goodtable manners, ensuring safety with knives and forks.
• To clean up spillages of food and toorganise clearing cutlery and crockery off tables.
• Where appropriate, to collectstudents from classroom ensuring that they are adequately dressed for theweather conditions.
• To supervise and control entrance andexit by students during the lunch break to school premises and ensure calmorderly conduct in accordance with the school’s expectations.
• To liaise with the academy’s CateringServices over the collection of meals and the return and cleaning of cateringresources at the end of lunch.
• Provides first aid assistance tostaff, students and visitors as and when necessary.
• To ensure that all students whosuffer any injury or accident are dealt with appropriately in accordance withthe school’s agreed procedures.
