Job description
Overview

Applications are invited for the post of Senior Clinical Fellow in Knee Surgery at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, based at Manchester Royal Infirmary. Elective operating takes place at the purpose‑built Manchester Orthopaedic Centre at Trafford Hospital, with trauma undertaken within the Major Trauma Centre at Manchester Royal Infirmary.

Two posts are available for a period of 6 months: one commencing in February 2026 and the other in August 2026.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be given exposure to a wide variety of elective and trauma surgery patients and will have the opportunity to undertake independent clinics and operating lists where appropriate competencies are met.

Research Opportunities

Ample research and publication opportunities will be available, with active involvement in the trials that are running within the knee service.

Qualifications
  • Sub‑specialty interest and experience in knee surgery.
  • Full GMC registration.
  • Completion of FRCS (Tr&Orth) or equivalent.
  • Ideally CCT or CESR in trauma and orthopaedics.
