Job summary

LA International is seeking an experienced Linux Engineer to join the Linux team, delivering OS support for SUSE and RedHat across physical and virtual servers, and contributing to migration and transformation projects. The role requires strong Linux knowledge, scripting skills, and experience with multi-platform estates.

The position is a 6‑month initial contract, with some out-of-hours work anticipated. Flexible work styles include work-from-home options with occasional on-site needs.

Qualifications

Strong working knowledge of Linux operating systems.
Ability to develop and maintain high-quality UNIX shell scripts.
Experience supporting and troubleshooting across multi-platform UNIX/Linux estates.
Understanding of Network technologies & components.
Understanding of cloud computing principles, particularly in the context of infrastructure management.

Responsibilities

Deliver operating system support and maintenance for SUSE and RedHat Linux servers, both physical and virtual.
Support Live, Development & Test environments and manage Change & Project work.
Contribute to migration/transformation projects, including out-of-hours work when required.
