The Maples Group looks to add a London-based Senior Legal Technologist to our team and invites eager and qualified candidates to apply. We are committed to diversity, inclusion and equality of opportunity as we attract, retain and develop world-class talent.

Who We Seek

Our merit-based culture suits professionals in pursuit of boundless careers and lives. Beyond their acumen, team members are collaborative and conscientious, bringing a healthy sense of drive and purpose to each interaction and to all aspects of their work.

About the Role

The future of legal services lies in intelligent technology, agile processes, and client-first innovation. The Maples Group is investing in this future through our Innovation Group – a dedicated team that brings together ambitious individuals with a passion for innovation and technology.

The Senior Legal Technologist operates with significant autonomy, leading workstreams and projects end-to-end. You are expected to work alongside Legal Technologists, influence solution design, and act as a subject matter expert in one or more technology domains.

This is a mid-level role within the Innovation Group's career progression framework. You will report to the Head of Innovation and play a key role in shaping how the team delivers technology-driven solutions to lawyers and clients across the firm.

  • Innovation Project Leadership. You will lead the design and delivery of Innovation projects from scoping through to implementation, taking ownership of workstreams end-to-end with moderate complexity. This includes evaluating vendor products and making recommendations to Innovation leadership on the adoption of new platforms and tools.

  • Solution Design and Advisory. You will act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders on technology solutions, drawing on your expertise in one or more legal technology domains to influence solution design and ensure that implementations meet business requirements.

  • Mentoring and Development. You will mentor and support the development of Legal Technologists within the team, helping them to build technical skills and navigate project delivery.

  • Adoption and Training. You will drive adoption of new tools and processes across the business, designing and delivering training programmes, creating user documentation, and working closely with legal teams to embed technology into day-to-day practice.

  • Strategy and Roadmap Contribution. You will contribute to team strategy and roadmap planning, helping to identify opportunities for technology-led improvement and shaping the direction of the Innovation Group's work.

  • Research and Evaluation. You will keep abreast of advancements in emerging legal technologies, evaluate new products and solutions, and effectively communicate developments and recommendations to legal teams and the wider business.
