What began as fast, affordable remittances is now evolving into a complete platform for multi-currency accounts, payments, credit, and long-term financial growth.

With over 2 million users across the globe, we process over $1.5B in monthly transactions to 30+ countries, proving that borders shouldn't limit financial opportunity.

The Role

As Senior Legal Counsel (Privacy), you will be a key strategic partner in shaping LemFi's global privacy, marketing, and product compliance framework. You will work across multiple functions—Legal, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Compliance, and Leadership—to enable innovation while safeguarding trust and regulatory integrity.

You will drive the legal strategy behind privacy, marketing practices, GDPR compliance, customer communications, and fintech product development. Your guidance will empower teams to build responsibly, scale confidently, and operate compliantly across the UK, EU, and international markets.

How You'll Contribute
  • Advise & Guide: Deliver clear, actionable legal advice on privacy, marketing, consumer protection, fintech product development, and broader regulatory matters.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Stay ahead of UK, EU, and international legal developments in data protection, ePrivacy, payments, and fintech regulations, ensuring the business remains compliant without limiting growth.
  • Drive Privacy & Data Protection: Lead on GDPR compliance, cross-border data transfers, user consent, marketing communications, and privacy-by-design for products and features.
  • Draft & Negotiate Contracts: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including vendor contracts, data processing agreements, marketing partnerships, and product-related documentation.
  • Partner on Product Development: Work closely with product, engineering, and marketing teams to launch and scale compliant features, communications, and customer journeys.
  • Proactively Manage Risk: Identify legal and regulatory risks early, proposing practical solutions and building playbooks, templates, and policies to streamline processes.
  • Collaborate Across Stakeholders: Partner with senior leaders, external counsel, compliance teams, and regulators to support the company's legal and regulatory posture.
Who You Are
  • Experienced & Trusted: You bring deep expertise in privacy/data protection, marketing law, and fintech product compliance, with sound judgment and the ability to translate complexity into clarity.
  • Proactive & Accountable: You take ownership, act independently, and deliver high-quality work with minimal oversight.
  • Business-Minded: You understand how to balance regulatory obligations with innovation, operational realities, and customer impact.
  • Data-Driven: You make informed decisions backed by data, insights, and structured analysis.
  • Collaborative: You work effortlessly across teams and geographies, building strong relationships with both technical and commercial stakeholders.
  • Clear Communicator: You explain legal concepts in a way that is concise, actionable, and aligned with business objectives.
What You'll Bring
  • Qualified lawyer with 7+ years PQE, admitted to practice in the UK, Ireland, or Norway.
  • Significant experience in privacy/data protection, with deep knowledge of GDPR, ePrivacy, and international data transfer frameworks.
  • Strong expertise in marketing law, consumer protection, and communications compliance.
  • FinTech or financial services experience (e-money, payments, banking) strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of ownership and accountability.
The Interview Process
  1. Chat with a Talent Partner (30 mins)
