Job summary

Daisy Group is seeking a Senior Legal Director to lead the in-house legal function in Lancashire, UK. You will shape delivery, supervise solicitors and contract managers, and advise the Executive Team on a broad range of commercial and regulatory matters.

You will drive practical risk management, negotiate complex contracts, oversee governance and regulatory compliance, and act as a trusted adviser to senior leadership. This role requires strategic thinking and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor in England and Wales or equivalent with substantial post-qualification experience.
• Strong commercial legal experience including leading complex negotiations.
• Experience leading, managing and developing legal professionals.
• Credibility and confidence when advising, influencing and constructively challenging senior stakeholders.
• Sound legal and commercial judgement including escalation of risks.
• Ability to translate complex legal or regulatory issues into concise, practical recommendations.
• Pragmatic, solutions-focused approach with ownership and priority management.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop a team of solicitors and contract managers, setting priorities.
• Advise Executive Team with clear, practical and commercially focused advice.
• Lead legal support for material customer, supplier, technology, business partner, distribution and agency arrangements.
• Oversee complex contract negotiations with stakeholder review before signature.
• Identify and manage significant legal and regulatory risks with clear recommendations.
• Advise on telecommunications regulation, data protection and privacy, and financial-services regulation.
• Support the General Counsel on governance, strategic projects, transactions and board matters.
• Lead or oversee significant disputes, investigations and incidents, including strategy and remediation.
• Improve the effectiveness of legal delivery through precedents, playbooks, processes and technology.
• Manage external legal advisers, ensuring quality, cost control and value for money.
• Periodically review Security Policies to ensure compliance.
• Carry out ad hoc assignments and ensure health and safety compliance.
