Job description
The opportunity

London College of Communication has an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator to take a leading role in shaping the Journalism and Publishing programme within the Media School.

This programme is home to an innovative range of courses designed to give students the professional skills, confidence and experience needed to thrive in the fast‑moving worlds of publishing and journalism.

As a Senior Lecturer in Journalism, you will contribute to teaching, curriculum development and ongoing scholarship across the programme, with a particular focus on MA Journalism and BA (Hons) Journalism. You will teach across audio, video and digital journalism, alongside core areas of professional practice such as news writing, media law and pitching. You will also lead the Audio and Video Journalism pathway at MA level, supporting students as they develop and refine their storytelling across podcasts, short video documentaries and creative visual content for social media.

Working within a collaborative and supportive course team, you will use your specialist knowledge to enhance pedagogy and the curriculum, helping to move the programme in innovative and critical directions. You will play an important part in exploring emerging issues in journalistic practice, particularly in relation to the production of audio and visual stories, mobile journalism, podcasting and content creation for platforms such as Instagram and TikTok.

You will also be an effective communicator, a collaborative colleague, and someone who thrives in a diverse and creative learning environment.
