Senior Learner Support Worker

Contract: Fixed‑term (maternity cover) until 30 September 2026 (or until postholder returns) Hours: 37.5 per week (term time only – 37 weeks per year)

Location: Bolton (Greater Manchester)

Salary: £24,501 – £27,067 per year (full‑time)

Bolton Learner Support Talent Solutions (BLSTS) is looking to appoint a dedicated and experienced Senior Learner Support Worker to join our team. You will work closely with the Additional Learning Support Leader and the wider support staff to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the service, providing essential support to both students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with the ALSL to ensure service needs are met: rota cover, management recording, managing student or staff issues, medication administration and auditing.
  • Support and develop staff in their day‑to‑day role through supervision and appraisal.
  • Contribute to, and maintain, detailed and accurate student records.
  • Ensure that individual support needs are met as directed by EHCP and Access Arrangements.
  • Collaborate with support departments to assist in the physical adaptation or production of resources such as enlarging photocopies or transcribing taped notes.
Qualifications and Experience
  • GCSEs in English and maths at grade 4/C or above, or equivalent.
  • Level 2 or 3 QCF award in Health & Social Care – Children or Adults, or willingness to commence award within the timescales set by BLSTS.
  • Experience working with people with disabilities and an awareness of their needs and rights.
  • Experience supervising / appraising staff.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
