Job summary

Orbis Education & Care is seeking a Senior Learning Support Assistant at Summergil School to support pupils with learning activities and personal development. You will work closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals to help pupils overcome challenges and achieve goals.

The role focuses on creating an inclusive learning environment, supporting behaviour management, and adapting lessons to individual needs. GCSEs and a Teaching & Learning qualification are required.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in English and Maths.
• A recognised qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning (or equivalent).
• Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
• Basic IT skills for record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in classroom activities and with individual plans.
• Create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
• Support behaviour management and social skills.
• Adapt lessons with teaching staff to meet individual needs.
• Help implement therapy plans and monitor pupil progress.
• Keep accurate records and contribute to reviews.
