Job description

Are you an education expert? We are currently seeking to represent an experienced SENCO for a senior leadership job based in an alternative provision inThetford, Norfolk (IP24). If you are a SEND specialist who is available from January 2026 onwards, we would be keen to speak with you.

If you are an experienced SENCO or an experienced Deputy SENCO seeking progression who has worked with pupils with SEMH across either primary or secondary phases this role may be for you. We are currently supporting an established alternative provision based in Thetford with their journey of growth. Start dates are to be discussed. The site has the capacity for up to 36 children and typically caters for pupils aged 7-17 with SEND requirements such as SEMH and ASD. A tour of the site and an informal meeting with the Headteacher can be arranged.

This site is part of a national trust who are focussed on supporting children with complex behaviours and needs. Their pupils have experienced trauma and adverse childhood experiences, and they work closely with them to develop self-belief to become effective learners. If you are of a similar mindset and ethos, we would be very happy to discuss the role in more detail.

In order to be successfully shortlisted in any of your applications with us we will require the following:

A relevant UK based NASENCO qualification.

Substantial experience working within an education setting.

All required documents for safer recruitment processing including, but not limited to a valid right to work proof and a valid Enhanced DBS.

Exceptional references.
