Job summary

JPMorgan Chase in Glasgow invites a Senior Lead Software Engineer to design and deliver trusted, scalable technology products in the Finance Technology Team. You will guide agile teams and shape technology strategy to support business objectives while fostering a diverse, inclusive culture.

You will mentor engineers, drive architecture decisions, implement CI/CD and security best practices, and deliver production-grade code across Java or Spark, SQL, and data platforms.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.

Required Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts
• Hands‑on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Proficient in coding in one or more languages such as Java or Spark
• Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern programming and database querying languages
• Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
• Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile)
• Ability to solve data‑oriented problems using technologies such as SQL, Relational DB, Spark, NoSQL, optimizing for performance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Spark performance tuning of complex calculations on large datasets
• Experience delivering production changes to complex software using Scala and Spark
• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts
