Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a talented Senior Lead Java Engineer to join the SwapClear Interfaces team within the SwapClear Technology function. You will design, build, and maintain Java-based applications essential to SwapClear Clearing operations.

In a Scrum/Agile environment, you will lead by example, ensure code quality, and contribute to testing and reliability while collaborating with cross-functional teams across front-end and cloud domains.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability using Java.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.
• Strong in Java 17+ and frameworks like Spring Boot, Spring MVC and Apache.
• Deep understanding of RESTful services and microservices architecture.
• Deep understanding of relational databases, SQL, and ORM tools.
• Experience with front-end development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks.
• Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) / Behavior Driven Development.
• Experience with cloud platforms and container technologies.
• Exposure to CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the analysis, design, develop and delivery of scalable and maintainable Java-based applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technology solutions with business needs.
• Lead by example with high quality, clean code using modern Java, Spring and related technologies; promote best practices in software engineering.
• Estimate progress and liaise with business analysts, developers and CI teams.
• Contribute to test automation and participate in test case design and execution.
• Support production systems, troubleshoot issues and provide timely fixes including out-of-hours support.
• Document technical specifications, workflow and system design.
• Work within an Agile/Scrum team and participate in sprint planning and stand-ups.
