Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Senior Lead Full Stack Software Engineer within Cybersecurity and Technology Controls. You will lead a team delivering scalable front-end and back-end solutions, mentor engineers, and drive best practices across UI/UX and data pipelines.

You will collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to ensure robust, secure software that meets business objectives, while advancing automation and quality assurance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or proven software engineering experience.
• 7+ years in professional software engineering and leading a team/s.
• Experience with front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
• Hands-on experience with React.js and its core principles.
• Strong understanding of API protocols and asynchronous handling, including REST and GraphQL.
• Experience with relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases, including data modelling.
• Experience in Java and Spring Boot for backend development and system architecture.
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies and DevOps practices, such as CI/CD, Git/GitHub, and TDD.
• Strong proficiency in Python and OOP principles.
• Ability to leverage AI-powered coding assistants to accelerate development while judiciously coding by hand.

As a Senior Lead Full Stack Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Cybersecurity and Technology Controls, youserve as a seasoned member of an engineering team that works to lead the delivery of software solutions that satisfy pre-defined functional and user requirements with the added dimension of preventing misuse, circumvention, and malicious behavior. The solutions you build directly enable Cyber Operations users and stakeholders through delivery and refinement of critical technology solutions with tamper-proof, audit defensible methods across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

You will lead the design and implementation of scalable and maintainable front-end solutions. You will collaborate closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend engineers to deliver high-quality user experiences. Your role will involve mentoring junior developers and promoting best practices in coding and testing. You will help drive technical decisions and ensure the feasibility of UI/UX designs. Together, we will create innovative products that delight our users.

Job responsibilities

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and/or proven work experience as a Software Engineer, preferably in a cloud-based environment.
• 7+ years of work-related experience in a professional software engineering role and leading a team/s.
• Experience with front-end technologies, such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
• Hands-on experience with React.js and its core principles.
• Strong understanding of API protocols and asynchronous request handling, including REST and GraphQL.
• Experience with relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases, including data modelling and optimization.
• Experience in Java and Spring Boot for backend development and system architecture.
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies and DevOps best practices, such as CI/CD, application resiliency, security, Git/GitHub, and Test Driven Development.
• Strong proficiency in Python, with a deep understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, with experience of building data pipelines, data models, and data transformation within data warehouses, knowledge of tools such as DBT is desired.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
• Demonstrated ability to leverage AI-powered coding assistants to accelerate development, improve code quality, and integrate best practices across the software lifecycle, while exercising sound judgment on when to rely on automation versus writing code by hand.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Experience with big-data technologies, such as Splunk, Trino, and Apache Iceberg.
• AI/ML experience with building models.
