Job summary

Agratas – A Tata Enterprise is seeking a Senior Launch Engineer (CT/X-ray) to join our Launch and Integration team in Bridgwater. You’ll provide launch and ramp-up technical support for manufacturing processes in Cell Assembly, acting as the primary escalation point during new line launches to stabilize operations from pilot through SOP ramp.

Qualifications

• Deep hands-on experience in lithium-ion battery manufacturing processes.
• Extensive experience with industrial CT and X-ray for complex assemblies; familiarity with scan parameters, reconstruction, and defect interpretation in EV or battery applications.
• Hands-on with multiple OEM platforms (e.g., Zeiss, Exacom, Innometry or similar) including power requirements, and algorithm tuning.
• Experience supporting pilot lines, new production launches, and high-volume manufacturing ramps.
• Experience in yield improvement, SPC, PFMEA, DOE, and RCCA methodologies.
• Experience launching new battery production lines or gigafactories (desirable)
• Direct experience with automotive NMC or other prismatic cells (desirable)
• Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic, Automation or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Launch and ramp-up technical support for manufacturing processes within the Cell Assembly area.
• Act as the primary technical escalation point during new line launches; stabilize operations from pilot through SOP ramp.
• Collaborate with equipment suppliers, manufacturing, quality, and assembly teams to ensure robust, scalable processes.
• Support Global Manufacturing Engineering in defining processes that ensure stack dimensional integrity, alignment accuracy, mechanical stability, and high-yield production.

What You'll Do

An exciting new opportunity has become available for a Senior Launch Engineer (specialising in CT / X-ray) within our Launch and Integration team. Report to the Head of Launch Integration, the Senior Launch Engineer provides launch and ramp-up technical support for a number of manufacturing processes within our Cell Assembly area. The role supports Global Manufacturing Engineering by defining robust, scalable processes that ensure stack dimensional integrity, alignment accuracy, mechanical stability, and high-yield production at takt. Acting as the primary technical escalation point during new line launches, this SME collaborates closely with equipment suppliers, manufacturing, quality, and assembly teams to stabilize operations from pilot through SOP ramp.
