Job summary

The Retail Partnership Ltd in Leicester is seeking a Jersey & Woven Designer to create commercial jersey and woven collections for established UK retailers. You will translate customer briefs into market-ready products, working closely with customers and internal teams from concept to production.

Ideal candidates will have strong experience in jersey and woven fabrics, CAD proficiency, and a good eye for trend and commercial viability aimed at an older customer demographic.

Qualifications

• Experience designing jersey and woven womenswear for fashion suppliers or retailers.
• Strong commercial handwriting for the womenswear market.
• Excellent understanding of jersey and woven fabrics, garment construction and fit.
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Excellent CAD and presentation skills.
• Ability to interpret customer briefs and translate them into commercially successful product.

Responsibilities

• Design commercial jersey and woven collections for established UK retail customers.
• Conduct seasonal trend, colour, fabric and competitor research to inspire new product development.
• Create CADs, technical drawings and presentation boards for customer meetings.
• Develop commercially relevant ranges tailored to an older customer demographic, focusing on quality, fit and wearability.
• Work closely with fabric suppliers to source innovative fabrics and trims.
• Attend customer meetings to present new collections and respond to design briefs.
• Support the development process from concept through to final production.
• Monitor fashion and retail trends while maintaining a strong commercial focus.
