Job summary

Avaloq in Edinburgh is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Security Assurance team to design, build and evolve automation that embeds security across the SDLC. You will create scalable CI/CD pipelines, tooling and APIs to support vulnerability management in cloud-native environments.

You will collaborate with software, DevOps and security engineers to reduce risk, improve secure coding practices and drive automated security testing across source code, dependencies and containers.

Qualifications

• Strong experience building CI/CD, automation and developer tooling.
• Solid knowledge of application security and vulnerability management, including secure SDLC.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes and/or OpenShift; familiarity with OCI or cloud tech is a plus.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills; able to deliver reliable security solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automation tooling, backend services and APIs for security assurance.
• Integrate automated security scanning across the SDLC for code, dependencies and containers.
• Monitor validation processes, assess vulnerabilities and support remediation.
• Develop automated vulnerability processing, reporting and event-driven workflows; integrate with Jira.
• Build security solutions for containerized and cloud-native environments (Kubernetes, OpenShift, OCI).

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join Avaloq’s Edinburgh office as part of our international Security team. You will join an experienced group of software engineers responsible for the frameworks, platforms and tools that help secure Avaloq’s technology landscape.

As aSenior Software Engineer in the Security Assurance team, you will build and enhance the automation and tooling that embeds security throughout the software development lifecycle. Working across software engineering, DevOps, cloud and application security, you will create scalable solutions that enable development teams to deliver secure, high-quality software.

• Design, develop and maintainCI/CD pipelines, automation tooling, backend services and APIsthat support security assurance and vulnerability management.
• Integrateautomated security scanningthroughout the software development lifecycle, covering source code, dependencies, repositories and containers.
• Monitor security validation processes,assess vulnerabilities and risk, investigate false positives and support effective remediation.
• Develop automatedvulnerability processing, reporting and event-driven workflows, integrating with internal platforms and tools such as Jira.
• Build security solutions forcontainerized and cloud-native environments, including Kubernetes, OpenShift and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Collaborate with engineering and technology teams to resolve security issues and continuously improvesecure software development practices.

Qualifications

• Strong experience developingCI/CD, automation and developer tooling, ideally within security-focused software delivery environments.
• Strong knowledge ofapplication security and vulnerability management, including secure software development, automated security testing and source-code, software composition and container scanning.
• Practical experience withDocker and Kubernetes and/or OpenShift, with knowledge ofOCI or comparable cloud technologieshighly desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to deliver reliable solutions to complex technical and security challenges.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and work effectively across teams.
• University degree inInformation Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
