Job summary

JUXT in London seeks a senior engineer for the embedded team within Prime Brokerage, building data-intensive systems at scale. You will own portions of the regulatory and client reporting book, transforming data from upstream sources into reports and feeds to clients and bank systems.

You’ll work across Kotlin and Java apps, with strong focus on large databases, streaming, and modernising the stack while ensuring correctness and performance.

Qualifications

• Strong Java and Kotlin proficiency with backend focus.
• Expert SQL Server relational modelling and performance analysis.
• Experience with data pipelines using Kafka and MongoDB.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and RPC services.
• Hands-on with Kubernetes/OpenShift and modern schedulers.
• Solid observability and monitoring tooling expertise.
• Track record in large banking or reporting systems.
• Ability to work across stakeholders in a regulated bank.

Responsibilities

• Drive delivery of the regulatory and client reporting book of work.
• Build and maintain data transformation pipelines (SQL Server, MongoDB, Kafka/EMS).
• Engage with upstream data providers and downstream consumers to gather requirements.
• Modernise the stack by converting stored procedures to Kotlin services.
• Analyse database performance and optimize for report speed.
• Assist platform modernisation, migrating scheduling to Kubernetes/OpenShift.
