Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a System Engineer to join the IWOCS group, based in Stord, Norway. You will provide technical guidance and deploy IWOCS deliveries, creating essential system documentation and drawings and reporting to the Project Engineering Manager.

You will own system engineering design files, perform FMEA/HAZID/LOPA analyses, and coordinate with other product lines while supporting the project through design, manufacturing, testing and commissioning. Fluency in English is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering; other relevant experience may compensate.
• Experience with workover control systems or production HPU designs.
• Knowledge of oil and gas industry standards (API, ISO, NORSOK, IEC, EN).
• Experience with hazardous area equipment (Ex) and ATEX/IECEx standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct system design reviews per engineering process and project scope.
• Prepare IWOCS system documentation.
• Establish technical requirement specification matrix.
• Own system engineering design files, FMEA, HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, and related analyses.
• Manage technical queries between IWOCS and other Baker Hughes product lines.
• Support rig surveys and review IWOCS equipment positioning and deck layout.
• Deliver lifecycle support for IWOCS, HPUs, reelers, and related units.
• Ensure compliance with Ex standards and deliver project support from concept to commissioning.
