Job summary

Sanderson Design Group in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Senior IT Engineer to own cloud and on‑premise infrastructure, lead security operations, and provide technical leadership to the IT team. The role involves managing Microsoft 365/Azure, Windows Server, and hybrid environments, with travel between Loughborough and Milton Keynes and three days on site weekly. You will drive reliability, security, and continuous improvement, mentor engineers, and maintain documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in Senior IT/IT Engineer roles in a Microsoft-centric environment.
• Microsoft Certified: AZ-500 or SC-500/Security fundamentals.
• ITIL Foundation or working knowledge of ITIL service management.
• Familiar with PowerShell scripting for M365/Azure automation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and respond to security incidents across Defender, Mimecast, and Darktrace.
• Administer Microsoft 365 and Azure tenants, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
• Manage on-premise and hybrid server infrastructure for availability and security.
• Plan migrations, upgrades, and refresh cycles; evaluate new technologies.
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation.
