Overview

Role: Senior IT Applications Analyst

Location: South Ribble and Chorley Councils

Contract: Full time (36.25 hours per week) / Permanent

Salary: 39,862 - 40,777

Closing Date: 19 October 2025

What you'll be getting up to
  • You'll play a key role in the planning, configuration, and enhancement of the council's line of IT business systems.
  • Collaborate with services and suppliers to identify, design and implement systems and process improvements.
  • Deliver complex systems projects from inception to completion.
  • Provide expert technical advice, troubleshooting and IT system support.
  • Support the training of staff in relation to business systems & data. Promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Maintain and develop documentation and data sets.
Who we're looking for
  • You'll have extensive knowledge and experience of IT business systems.
  • Experience with the delivery of IT business system projects.
  • A problem solver with a keen eye for detail. You'll have strong analytical skills and the ability to accurately interpret information.
  • You'll have knowledge of Oracle and SQL backed applications.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications.
Other requirements
  • This role requires some travel around our boroughs. You should have a valid driving licence or the equivalent mobility.
  • Successful applicants will be subject to a DBS check (applied and paid for by the Council).
