Senior Investigation Officer – Enhanced Case Management (Hybrid)

We are recruiting four Senior Investigation Officers to join our Enhanced Case Management (ECM) Team. This role requires significant experience of conducting complex investigations and is a hybrid position based within the Birmingham, Cardiff or London offices.

Location Options

Birmingham – part of the week working from home

Cardiff – part of the week working from home

London – part of the week working from home

Contract & Working Pattern
  • Permanent full‑time – 35 hours per week
  • Flexible working may be considered
Salary
  • £46,305 per annum – Birmingham and Cardiff
  • £50,935 per annum – London
The Team and the Role

The ECM Team is part of the Investigations directorate and focuses on high‑profile and complex complaints and reports of misconduct by those we regulate. The team works collaboratively with Forensic Investigation and Legal & Enforcement teams, and often works with external solicitors and counsel.

The successful candidate will lead complex investigations across one of the following cohorts and coordinate operational elements across the wider SRA:

  • SIO non‑disclosure agreements / investment schemes cohort
  • SIO bullying & harassment cohort
  • SIO discrimination cohort
  • SIO abusive litigation cohort
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute effective investigation strategy for the specific cohort.
  • Draft notices, witness statements and other key case documents, and support on complex process and disclosure issues.
  • Quality assurance of documents and investigation findings prepared by Investigation Officers.
  • Lead drafting and consolidating investigations guidance and resources relevant to the team and cohort.
  • Lead and support team training, engagement and decision‑making consistency across the cohort.
  • Prepare, review and present cases to legal case surgeries and senior management to ensure effective case progression.
  • Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to support case progression and ensure high quality decision making and outcomes.
  • Coach and provide technical support and advice for individual Investigation Officers.
What We Are Looking For
  • Excellent knowledge of the regulatory landscape and risk relating to abusive litigation, discrimination, bullying & harassment, investment schemes / non‑disclosure agreements.
  • Proven experience leading complex investigations and critically analysing information to make recommendations demonstrating risk‑based judgment within a context relevant to one or more of the areas above.
  • Proven experience and ability to draft and quality‑assure complex documents in an investigation / case working setting.
  • Ability to assimilate information quickly and provide clear advice and case direction.
  • Ability to collaborate with, influence, and constructively challenge internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to provide coaching and guidance / feedback in a positive and constructive manner.

Hybrid role – work one to two days a week in the office and the remainder from home.

Generous flexible benefits package, defined contribution pension scheme, additional 3% of basic salary upon successful completion of probation.

London weighting allowance of an additional 10% for eligible candidates.
