Job summary

Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust invites applications for a consultant radiologist to join our established radiology team. The post is based primarily at Queen’s Hospital, Romford, with work at Barking CDC and St George’s CDC as required, supporting a population of around 750,000.

The role covers general interventional radiology, reporting MRI and CT, contributing to MDTs and the duty roster, sharing on-call duties, and participating in governance, audits and policy

Responsibilities

• Provide general Interventional Radiology across trust sites.
• Report cross-sectional images performed on the MRI and CT scanners at the CDC centres, King George’s and Queen’s Hospital.
• Contribute to the general duty roster and hot reporting sessions.
• Participate in the specialist and general MDTs with other colleagues in rotation.
• Share an on-call commitment with existing IR consultants.
• Adhere to clinical and quality standards, liaise with colleagues, GPs, community services and healthcare agencies.
• Maintain confidentiality per Trust information governance guidelines.
• Participate in development and implementation of policy and management of radiology services.
• Attend governance meetings and audits as necessary.
• Attend operational and clinical meetings deemed essential to department functioning.
• Maintain evidence-based practice within area of special interest.
• Comply with trust and departmental policies on job planning, appraisal and leave.
• Deputise for absent consultants to maintain core services.
