Job summary

MI5 seeks Senior Internal Auditors to join the Internal Audit and Consultancy function. You will lead a diverse portfolio of audits, deliver high-quality assurance, and contribute to governance and risk management. Some technology audit work is included, with opportunities to mentor junior staff.

You will be based in London or Cheltenham, with UK travel essential and occasional overseas travel. A professional qualification (IIA/CCAB or equivalent) is preferred, and CISA knowledge is desirable.

Qualifications

• Broad audit experience across corporate and operational areas.
• Ability to apply audit testing methodologies and data analysis.
• Experience leading audits and mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver a portfolio of internal audits and assurance engagements.
• Review design and operating effectiveness of controls; ensure quality and timeliness.
• Build relationships with stakeholders and communicate audit findings.
• Potential to manage a small team of auditors and support their development.
