Job summary

elasticStage is hiring a Senior Installations Engineer to lead hands-on installation, commissioning and testing of our production machinery at the Hemel Hempstead facility, with initial training at Elstree. You will supervise on-site contractors and document deviations, SOPs and RAMS to ensure seamless handover to Operations.

The role is site-based, five days on site, working with a growing Installations Team to scale our on-demand manufacturing platform.

Qualifications

• Level3 NVQ, BTEC, or City & Guilds in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronics Engineering or higher.
• Minimum 10 years experience as installation/service/field/maintenance engineer in automation, FMCG, automotive or manufacturing.
• Hands-on installation, commissioning and testing of mechanical and electrical production equipment.
• Experience managing contractors on site.
• Experience with building infrastructure systems (power, data, compressed air).
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Knowledge of machinery safety standards and compliance.
• Troubleshooting mechanical or electrical faults independently.

Responsibilities

• Installation and commissioning of building infrastructure systems that support the production machinery i.e. vacuum and compressed air systems, power supply and network systems.
• Troubleshooting and resolving mechanical, electrical and controls-related issues during installation and commissioning.
• Maintaining accurate as-built records, installation logs and documenting deviations from design.
• Supporting integrated commissioning alongside the wider engineering team.
• Contributing to the refinement of installation procedures as the team grows.

As the Senior Installations Engineer, you will be responsible for installation, commissioning and testing of our proprietary production machinery with different technologies and complexities, i.e. from printing presses to automation systems, in our new manufacturing facility in Hemel Hempstead. This is a permanent, site-based, hands-on role where you will be part of the Installations Team, who are building the future of our company.

Work Location

This role will be 5 days onsite, working closely with teams at our production sites, with initial training at Elstree and long-term at other future production in Hemel Hempstead.
