This role is open to remote working within the UK. Successful candidates will be required to travel to their closest UNiDAYS campus (London or Nottingham) on occasion.
The role in a nutshell
In your role as Senior Insight Analyst you will support the growth of UNiDAYS by uncovering trends in data and making insight lead recommendations that enable and empower teams to drive improvement in business performance. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders to provide robust insights to all areas of the business, by leading on key analytical projects.
Day to day responsibilities
- Lead on and deliver analytical projects that derive actionable insight that supports business performance
- Plan and manage insight projects end to end with clear alignment to business value (projects that may have one analyst or several analysts working together)
- Ensure the technical delivery across projects is appropriate / fit for purpose
- Provide and present findings and recommendations to the business
- Manage clear stakeholder communications throughout the project
- Manage concurrent insight projects
- Support managers within the team to develop insight roadmap
- Identify opportunities to add value through insights
- Take ownership of key insight focus areas within the team, managing workload and stakeholder relationships for this focus area
- Lead stakeholder relationships in order to follow up on projects and see through recommendations
- Support ad‑hoc requests into the team – take responsibility for finding solutions to automating ongoing requests
- Support the development of best practices around statistics, coding, visualisation, storytelling, QA and project delivery
- Be an ambassador for the team – raise the profile of the team through showcasing insight work across the business (i.e. through ad‑hoc training, lunch and learns)
- Adhere to Data Governance guidelines, making sure we leverage and share the right data at the right times
What we need from you
- Deliver actionable insight to support decision making in marketing, commercial, product, operational and/or strategic decisions
- Take a business question or problem and turn it into an insight brief
- Drive actionable insight from data
- Devise solutions to solve data & analytics problems
- Extract data from various sources and bring it together for analysis
- Apply a range of analytical and statistical techniques to answer a variety of analytical questions, with familiarity with some advanced techniques such as A/B testing and forecasting
- Manage project work for yourself and others – effectively plan parts of a project and delegate to other insight analysts as required
- Tell insight stories and present them to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Data visualisation
- Use data warehouse and BI platforms – including metric creation and report/dashboard/visualisation development
- Define, design, implement and analyse A/B tests
- Have advanced proficiency in SQL and Excel / Google Sheets, and experience using Python / R for advanced analysis
