Job summary

Meta is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Security Monitoring Engineer to build and operate detections across its vast infrastructure. You will research, design, and implement security solutions to protect over a billion users, focusing on scalable detection and proactive defense against threat actors.

You will lead incident investigations, mentor teams, and collaborate with engineers to integrate AI-enabled tooling and automation for faster detection and response.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of development in Python or Go for security tooling.
• 3+ years in offensive/defensive security or systems engineering.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and Unix-based systems.
• Experience building defensive security systems and monitoring for detection.

Responsibilities

• Iterate security posture to better protect against attacks and detect new vectors.
• Lead efforts to mitigate and investigate security incidents.
• Develop and scale detection, mitigation and response automation tooling.
• Evaluate and test new security initiatives from vendors or in-house.
• Mentor and evangelize security practices across engineering teams.
• Maintain and defend Meta's critical infrastructure.
