The UK Sovereign Operations team in Google Public Sector delivers, operates, and secures private cloud services.
As an Infrastructure Operations Engineer, you will be part of a team of engineers that deploys and operates our private cloud services for critical customers in the UK. Working with various technologies, you will be deploying new infrastructure as our deployments scale, rolling out new features and updates, troubleshooting problems, and managing incidents. In line with Google’s standard engineering practices, you will automate common tasks, manage incidents and conduct blameless retrospectives to avoid the same problems happening again. You will work with local support staff to help them with challenging problems and you will reach back into Google’s product teams for help where you need it.
You will troubleshoot technical problems and if necessary you will update our playbooks, not just to help our UK team but to help similar teams around the world. You will help drive the success of Google Cloud by understanding and advocating customers issues. This will include a need to sometimes work non-standard work hours and participate in an on-call rotation.
