Job summary

Netcompany is seeking an Infrastructure Architect to oversee technology components across IT projects. You will liaise between technical SMEs and business stakeholders to transform goals into a robust project framework and deliver high‑quality design collateral for governance and assurance.

You will coordinate delivery across multiple disciplines, ensure BAU readiness, and support migration planning from current to target states, with experience in manufacturing environments preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of a broad range of technology solutions.
• Experience with Network, Security and Storage tech.
• Understanding of Cloud technologies such as AWS and Azure.
• Application integration, migration and business transformation.
• TOGAF is advantageous.
• Service architecture, business analysis and service management awareness.
• SC Cleared or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Acting as the senior technology authority for a project or programme.
• Collaborating with project management to interpret business needs and define technical specifications.
• Produce technical design documentation for multi-supplier environments.
• Develop holistic service designs covering technology and support needs.
• Oversee full project lifecycle from initiation to decommissioning.
• Model current/target/transition states and decompose into tasks for engineering teams.
• Coordinate across governance functions (Senior Management, Security, EA, Service Acceptance).
• Present complex architecture solutions to customers.

Job Description

The Infrastructure Architect will be responsible for overseeing the completion of technology components within IT projects. They will perform liaison between technical SMEs and business stakeholders, providing guidance on the customer journey, to ensure that:

• Business goals are converted into a suitable project framework.
• Requirements are robustly defined, in a manner that allows suppliers to be engaged appropriately.
• Technical solutions align with enterprise IT strategy.
• Design collateral is always produced to a high standard, covers the end‑to‑end service and is capable of assurance by the Architecture Governance function.
• Delivery is coordinated across multiple technical disciplines.
• Services are BAU‑ready before they are handed to Operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Acting as the senior technology authority for a specific project or programme, ideally within in a Manufacturing Environment.
• Collaborating with project management teams to interpret business needs and establish project boundaries that will inform the necessary technical specifications.
• Demonstrable experience in the production of technical design documentation, working within a multi‑supplier environment, planning, and delivering quality results within agreed time‑scales.
• Producing holistic service designs, which not only cover technology aspects, but which also address service support, management and maintenance needs.
• Experience across full project lifecycle, from initiation to decommissioning.
• Ability to model current, target and transition states, and define migration methods between these. Ability to decompose these into low‑level tasks, for assignment to engineering teams.
• Understanding of business analysis methods.
• Provision of technical coordination across multiple teams and assignment of roles and responsibilities
• Liaising with business governance functions e.g. Senior Management, Security, Enterprise Architecture, Service Acceptance etc.
• Presenting complex technical architecture solutions to the end customer.
• Ability to oversee the technical delivery of projects to the project manager and engineering team..

Technical Skills

• Windows Server 2016/2019/2022
• SQL Server 2016/2019/2022
• NAS/SAN technologies
• Windows 10/11, SCOM and SCCM
• Client and client server applications
• General networking knowledge
• Knowledge of public cloud platforms an advantage, but not essential
• Knowledge of Oracle RDBMS and MySQL also an advantage, but not essential
• Knowledge of Containerisation technologies (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker, PodMan etc)

Qualifications
