Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a visionary Senior Industrial Designer to join their innovative product development team. This fully remote role lets you contribute from anywhere in the UK, shaping aesthetics and functionality from concept through production.

You will work closely with engineering, marketing, and product management to create market-ready products, leveraging your portfolio and expertise in manufacturing processes to deliver standout solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Design or a related field.
7+ years of professional Industrial Design experience with a strong portfolio.
Expert proficiency in SolidWorks, Rhino, KeyShot and Adobe Creative Suite.
Deep understanding of manufacturing processes (injection molding, CNC, 3D printing).
Strong presentation and communication skills to articulate design rationale.

Responsibilities

Lead conceptualization and development of innovative product designs, from initial sketches to detailed 3D models and prototypes.
Conduct user research, market analysis, and competitive benchmarking to inform design decisions.
Create compelling visual presentations and design proposals to communicate concepts to stakeholders.
Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers to ensure designs are feasible for manufacturing and meet performance requirements.
Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes to achieve desired aesthetics, functionality, and cost targets.
Stay abreast of emerging design trends, technologies, and materials in the industry.
