Job summary

NHS Scotland is recruiting a Senior Clinical Scientist for Immunology within Diagnostics Laboratories in Dundee. The role reports to the Immunology Clinical Lead and leads scientific and quality activities across the Immunology department.

The Immunology laboratory at Ninewells Hospital provides routine and specialist testing for NHS Tayside and surrounding regions, with a focus on high-quality service delivery, compliance with ISO15189, and development of staff and systems.

Qualifications

• Must be HCPC registered as Clinical Scientist in Immunology with FRCPath Part 1 completed or in progress.
• Proven leadership experience at a senior level within a laboratory setting.
• Sound knowledge of ISO15189:2022 standards and quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, scientific and quality leadership for Immunology.
• Support delivery of the Clinical Laboratory Service in collaboration with senior managers.
• Lead operational management and strategic direction for the department.
• Collaborate with Immunology team, quality and safety and training staff.
