Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a Consultant in Immunology & Allergy to join the Leicester Royal Infirmary adult services. The role involves clinical and laboratory immunology, supervision of immunoglobulin replacement, and participation in MDTs and teaching.

Qualifications

• MB BS or equivalent required.
• MRCP or equivalent.
• Full GMC Registration.
• Higher Specialist Training or eligible for Specialist Register within 6 months of interview.
• FRCPath (Immunology) or equivalent.
• Membership of relevant Specialist Societies or associations.
• Higher degree e.g. MSc, MD or equivalent.
• BLS Certification.
• UK-trained applicants must be within six months of award of CCT by interview date.

Responsibilities

• Share responsibility with current consultants for clinical and laboratory immunology services.
• Supervise and participate in immunoglobulin replacement for patients with immune deficiencies.
• Participate in outpatient clinics for immunology, immunodeficiency, and allergy.
• Contribute to teaching and training of junior staff and other clinical teams.
• Engage in service development, audits, and quality improvement activities.
• Maintain accreditation standards (QPIDS, IQAS, UKAS) and participate in TRIAC activities.
