Job summary

Sonovision UK is seeking a Senior ILS Engineer to provide ILS/IPS consultancy and lead teams delivering complex ILS programmes for defence and aerospace projects. This leadership role requires close collaboration with OEMs, primes, and government bodies to drive through-life support strategies and modernisation initiatives.

The successful candidate will define end-to-end support concepts, author ISPs/SCRs, and advance data-driven ILS solutions while ensuring compliance with S-Series and DEF STAN

Qualifications

• Essential: Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Experience leading ILS/IPS within defence or aerospace.
• Proven track record delivering complex programmes.
• Strong expertise in ILS/LSA methodologies and through-life support.
• Knowledge of DEF STAN 00-600, DEF STAN 00-60, S-Series, MIL-STD-1388-2B and AQAP.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand equipment breakdown structures.
• Stakeholder engagement experience.
• Fluent English and SC clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead ILS/IPS teams within Sonovision UK and oversee delivery of complex ILS programmes.
• Act as senior customer interface and support bid development and capability growth.
• Drive adoption of ILS frameworks, governance, and tools across UK/European operations.
• Develop and review ISPs, SCRs, and ILS/IPS documents to ensure quality and value.
• Influence system design to optimise availability, maintainability, and lifecycle cost.
• Produce LSAR data sets and maintain LSAR databases to standards.
