Job summary

Vulcain Engineering UK is seeking a Senior I&C Engineer to join our team in Portsmouth. You will contribute to building life sciences facilities, with hands-on experience in control panel design, integration and testing, from concept through to verification.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver compliant, high-quality control solutions for regulated industries, ensuring documentation and design changes are properly managed.

Qualifications

• Experience in I&C, E&I, or control systems engineering.
• Proven panels/cabinets integration, modification, or build experience.
• Experience delivering design changes and updating docs.
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics and control principles.
• Hands-on system integration, assembly, or testing.
• Background in regulated industries (life sciences, nuclear, etc.).
• Ability to troubleshoot across system delivery stages.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Support the integration and modification of control panels and cabinet-based systems.
• Review and update wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical files.
• Implement and manage design changes, ensuring alignment with project and compliance requirements.
• Work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure systems are built and configured correctly.
• Participate in or oversee assembly, wiring, and configuration activities where required.
• Perform system testing, verification, and validation, demonstrating correct operation.
• Identify and resolve issues during integration, build, and testing phases.
• Ensure all work is delivered in line with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
