Qualifications

• Degree in hydrogeology, civil engineering or related discipline.
• 3–5 years' experience in flood risk and drainage.
• Chartered status or progression toward it.
• Experience using FEH, WinFAP FEH, Flood Modeller, TuFLOW or HEC-RAS.
• Strong communication, project management and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Producing high-quality technical reports for planning and development projects.

SENIOR HYDROLOGIST

Location: Birmingham. Hybrid working available. Salary: £45,000 to £60,000 plus benefits.

New year, new job. Are you a Senior Hydrologist looking to move away from rigid corporate structures and into a consultancy where your expertise genuinely shapes outcomes? This is an opportunity to join a leading environmental consultancy where your technical input is visible, valued and influential.

You will be based from the Birmingham office, working closely with a regional water and environmental team while contributing to projects across the Midlands and wider UK. The role spans flood risk, drainage and water resources work for both public and private sector clients, supporting developments wherever they are located while remaining anchored to a flexible hybrid working arrangement.

The role

As a Senior Hydrologist, you will lead technical delivery while supporting team development and project performance.

About you
